ABOUT THIS MURAL

Of the many wonderful aspects of Ward 2, at the heart of them all are the people who live, work, and play there. Miller has been a resident for over twenty years, and they know first-hand the deep affection the community holds for this Ward, this city, and each other. Ward 2 is a vibrant community established, grown, and sustained by people from all over the world. This diversity and vitality are reflected in the bold array of colors throughout the mural.

The mural celebrates one of the city’s most diverse populations, with flowers representing the countries of origin of past and current residents. More than 75 flowers, symbolizing nearly 90 countries, are included. The red and pink flowers are arranged to create a heart, symbolic of the love felt for the city. More information about the mural, including a key for the types of flowers and the countries they represent, is available on the artist’s website, www.millerartcreative.com. There, visitors can also find an acknowledgment of the traditional and ancestral lands of the Native American nations who inhabited the area before Ward 2.
