La bohème presetned by Opera Theatre of St. Louis
Set against the backdrop of Paris, a group of bohemian artists find solace and comradery in their shared dreams. In their frosty attic, a chance encounter ignites a romance between the seamstress Mimì and the poet Rodolfo. Their love flourishes in winter’s chill…yet as winter gives way to spring, the realities of the world begin to cast a shadow over their idyllic affair.

Paul Chans: Breathers at the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis
New York-based artist, writer, and publisher Paul Chan came to prominence in the early 2000s with vibrant moving image works that touched upon aspects of war, religion, pleasure, and politics. This exhibition showcases a new series of kinetic, fan-powered sculptures entitled Breathers, which move in a free-form choreography in the gallery and are described by Chan as “animated by breath.”

Featuring two dozen works of sculpture (with newly added pieces) against a backdrop of luscious flora, Citygarden is a welcoming oasis to experience art and nature. You can visit them anytime from sunrise to 10 p.m., but make sure you join them on Music Mondays, acts in June include Fanfare (June 3), Dawn Weber (June 10), Miss Jubilee (June 17) and Acoustik Element (June 24).

Delcy Morelos: Interwoven at the Pulitzer Arts Foundation
Colombian artist Delcy Morelos creates art that calls attention to connections between people and the environment. Using natural materials like textile, fibers, clay, and soil, her work asks us to consider earth as a living entity rather than a territory to be owned.

Shakespeare in the Park presents As You Like It
Join the St. Louis Shakespeare Festival for a popular, free summer tradition in St. Louis. This year’s performance will be the Shakespearean comedy As You Like It, staged at Shakespeare Glen in Forest Park.
