ABOUT AROUSED BY ART

I am a native St Louisans that create figurative and abstract paintings that are multi layered in color and textured using glass, clay, cardboard, gesso and wood. My painting are medium to large in size. My figurative painting are influenced by a wide range of revolutionary singers, athletes, political figures and or social activist that I admire, all in which have a sense of radicalness when advocating about social, political reform or justice. I have a love for people that use their platform whatever that maybe to help to move humanity forward concerning mostly social, educational and economic development. My love for art was born out escapism. I found art is very therapeutic for me so I wanted to share this experience with others by creating an environment that feels good, safe and non-judgmental. I host art therapy classes that promotes self-awareness through conversation, music and painting or using clay. One of my proudest accomplishment was being the art director of “The Artist Village of the Saint Louis World’s Fare” My position allowed me to meet an array of local creatives, select artist for vending events and take part in the insulation of those artist for events. One of my passions is to visit inner city schools and discuss my career as an artist and how it connects with education and earning a living. My installation at the Ferguson Public Library that centered around the Mike Brown Protest was indeed one of my proudest moments of my art career.
