A CITY TRANSFORMED
Creativity and community pride are part of the foundation of St. Louis. It’s who we are – as if it’s baked into the brick found throughout this historic city.
That passion for place, people and artistic expression comes together with the St. Louis Mural Project, a visionary initiative that embraces collaboration, beautification, and support for local artists.
Funded through ARPA for the Arts and managed by the Regional Arts Commission of St. Louis, the St. Louis Mural Project (STLMP) illustrates the City’s love of public art and the creatives who bring it to life.
14 WARDS. 28 MURALS. ALL CREATED BY STL ARTISTS.
Local artists were selected through a competitive grantmaking process to create murals that incorporate community engagement or showcase historical significance of the ward in which the mural is located. STL creatives showed up – as they always do – with concepts that capture the spirit and distinctiveness of each area. There’s so much to discover within St. Louis’ inviting neighborhoods. So, come to marvel at the murals. Then stay for the great food, parks, shopping and more. Let these amazing murals be your map to explore St. Louis and find your vibe.
